Common reasons a SAM.gov registration fails or stalls
Legal name does not match the IRS or state record — abbreviations, punctuation, "LLC" vs "L.L.C." all count as a mismatch.
Physical address differs from the document, is a P.O. box, has suite formatting that differs, or another entity is flagged at the same address.
New EIN not yet in the IRS database — wait roughly 2 to 4 weeks after the IRS letter before you submit.
Document too old (over 5 years where currency is required), a screenshot without the registry URL, or a lease or application submitted as proof.
TIN/name mismatch with the IRS (TIN match failure).
CAGE validation mismatch — DLA needs the physical address to be consistent everywhere.
Expired or wrong POC email, or the Entity Administrator left the company (a notarized appointment letter is then needed).
Inconsistent size or socio-economic claims (for example an accidental SDB or SDVOSB self-certification) — a misrepresentation risk under 15 U.S.C. 645(d).
Bank information typos — payments fail after award.
